Early Literacy

Here are some of our learning materials for children ages two and up. We carry a variety of alphabetic and sight word activities, as well as feelings flashcards for emotional literacy.

What are sight words?

Sight words, sometimes referred to as "high frequency words" are commonly occurring words that may break linguistic rules (like "come," "who," or "does") thereby making them more difficult for young children to decode in a sentence. The purpose of teaching sight words is to help children recognize them quickly so they don't get stuck when they see them.
