Description

This supremely unique and readable book contributes to the literature on literacy education both in and out of school. It addresses how and why to train readers and writers in school, but also how to do so in a way that’s enjoyable and non-clichéd. Written to clarify questions and discoveries, this book shows how the library at even a modest school can do a great deal to break the chain of conditioning that prevents millions of people from being active citizens in written culture.
